VoiceOver Automator Workflows

This is a list of Automator Workflows that users of VoiceOver may find useful.

Move 1.0

Move attempts to deal with the problems that blind users face with drag and drop. Move will move the selected items in the finder to a chosen directory. It will then open that directory and make it the front most window in the Finder. Selecting the directory is done with a standard put file dialog. To install Move open it with Automator and then choose the "Save as Plugin..." option of Automator's "file" menu be sure that the application popup menu is set to "Finder".

Add Item to Dock 1.0

This is a combination of a new command line program, Add Item to Dock and a workflow for the finder addtodock. Used together they permit the blind user to add items selected in the finder to the dock. Add the workflow to the Finder and it will appear under the Automator submenu of selected items.

Make URL Shortcut 1.0

This workflow for Safari will make a URL shortcut from the current Safari page. URL Shortcuts are just like Mac Webloc files except you can send tem to Windows users and they will work. This workflow can be installed in Safari's scripts menu and permits the blind to name and save URL shortcuts without using drag and drop.
